Hello,
I replaced my 65 stock gas cap with a Chevy II Only locking bowtie one.
The stock one would be "not vented" as well correct?

Correct they all vent to the atmosphere

Ist gens have a nipple and a hose from the fuel filler tube that is the vent,so the cap doesn't need venting
