I am replacing my starter. I have a 74 sbc 350. I just bought the new starter and there is only 1 bolt on the selenoid to connect a wire too. There where 2 on the original starter and 2 wires. Wht do I do with the extra wire???

Thanks sorry if its a stupid question.

Oh the Starter is from a 98 k1500 I was told this was a good choice from a member here.

You need the 2 post on the solenoid, that is a start bypass.

No diode needed.

I am having the same problem. I have switched over to an HEI system. Therefore, I don't need the yellow wire, so which terminal do I attach the purple wire to, the left or right post when I am looking at the solenoid?

I also require 12V to the HEI can I use one of these wires in the photo below that was attached to the original coil?
