Good morning all. I am going to help a friend of mine with his 65
He wants to pull the 6cy and swap it out for a 327 that he had. I am
sure I will have a lot of questions during the swap.
I am not familiar with this gen. Maybe dumb question, but what is
the difference between chevy11 and nova ? Have to go to work, so
you all have a good day.....:)

welcome to the site. chevyll an nova are all the same. might have got the chevyll name as it was a chevy an first year was 62. an 66 was the only year the nova word wasn't on the car. an i'm thinking chevy dropped the chevyll badging in 68 an stayed with just the nova name. thats a nice engine to drop into that nova.

:waving:Welcome from Wisconsin! :horse: Pics? You might want to do a little research before you start ripping the 6 out. I put a 327 in a '62 in 1970 maybe. I needed to find a front sump oil pan. I found a GM one as they did put 8's in some of the 1st gens. There are probably aftermarket pans available now. Hopefully somebody who has done that swap recently will volunteer more relevant info. I put in a 365HP version, a 4-speed, and a 4:11 posi and it was wicked fast because it was so light. Good luck with your project.

Welcome. There is a lot of info on this site for the engine swap. You might consider a front suspension upgrade while your at it. Lots of choices.
