My name is Jeremy. I am new here. I live in southern california.
I am looking at picking up my first nova this week if all goes right. It’s going to be a budget street/strip build. Gonna see how cheap i can build it for my first nova build. The car i am gonna look at is a nova 1975 2 door with a 350. I wanted a 1974 or earlier but they are way more money and harder to find.
The knowledge here is awesome. Excited to learn from others. Like i said i’m new so I have allot to learn.
Best,
jeremy
Do you guys think i can build a budget cheap race/street car that does 12/13 secs in the quarter and can be driven in the street for around 5k if the car is around 2k. I have never done this so i am worried i am biting off more then i can afford.
The car i’m looking at has a 350 in it.
i will need a rear end and i will need to gut the cars interior. Just gonna put one seat in it. Not worried about what it looks like. I probably need a trans also. It’s my first build so i don’t want to mess it up.
Good Luck!I bought my first 73 in SoCal, (Northridge) running well for $1200 25 years ago. In the same vein, I wanted to buy a 67-73 Camaro but the '73 Nova was all I could find in my price range. Don't discount the '75, it's a great platform and if built right, they look great. Keep on looking, the deals are out there.
do you know if they have a build list for it. I dont mind spending more over time just trying to stay as cheap as possible. Like I said its all new to me.
Hello all, So I have tracked down a nova with a 350 in it. 1974. What is a fair price. I will share some photos once I get them. is 4000 too much? Is there a average price?
it has been sitting for that long because my buddies sister passed away and it was hers. they just never touched it again. I’m not 100 percent positive i’m getting the car but we will see. I need to go back and check all the floor boards and the frame. I want to make sure it’s not rusted thru. I will post some more pics if i get the car. Fingers crossed it works out.
Ok guys here is an update. Went to look at a nova last night and the sale is pending. need to verify if the bin is clean then it will be the car i go with. It’s a 1973 Nova roller.
question: How do i know what motors will fit in the car.I was ether wanting a 350 or a 454. not sure yet. Most likely a 350 with a 400 crank.
My 2ton 72 runs high 12's with a 352 destroked 400, AFR HEADS, FAST EZ 2.0 EFI, 4L80 , 3.73 Gears. It has OE AC & PS.
Spent over $25k in last 15 yrs to get it that kwik. Probably abit more expensive to do same in these inflationary times. Paid $1100 for this CenTex OE 350/350 90,000 Mile car in 2001.
