Hello all,

My name is Jeremy. I am new here. I live in southern california.
I am looking at picking up my first nova this week if all goes right. It’s going to be a budget street/strip build. Gonna see how cheap i can build it for my first nova build. The car i am gonna look at is a nova 1975 2 door with a 350. I wanted a 1974 or earlier but they are way more money and harder to find.
The knowledge here is awesome. Excited to learn from others. Like i said i’m new so I have allot to learn.
Best,
jeremy

Good Luck!I bought my first 73 in SoCal, (Northridge) running well for $1200 25 years ago. In the same vein, I wanted to buy a 67-73 Camaro but the '73 Nova was all I could find in my price range. Don't discount the '75, it's a great platform and if built right, they look great. Keep on looking, the deals are out there.

Do you guys think i can build a budget cheap race/street car that does 12/13 secs in the quarter and can be driven in the street for around 5k if the car is around 2k. I have never done this so i am worried i am biting off more then i can afford.
The car i’m looking at has a 350 in it.
i will need a rear end and i will need to gut the cars interior. Just gonna put one seat in it. Not worried about what it looks like. I probably need a trans also. It’s my first build so i don’t want to mess it up.

I don’t think that is a great budget to get you quite where you want to be. If you’ve seen the Bonemaro Camaro on Roadkill Garage they tried to do something similar with about a $10k budget, a 79 Camaro, and a 5.3 LS with a turbo.
You can look up those episodes and see what you think..
