Howdy. I'm John from Plano, TX. Retired after 40+ years in Information Technology. New to Chevy II Nova's. I've owned a 52 Chevy Bel Air, 56 Chevy 210, 51 Chevy 3100 pickup. My newest acquisition is this 67. It needs more work than I expected when I bought it but with the help of you guys, I hope to survive.

Hi JohnnyR. . . . . . and, I already like your 'New Car' .

Say, How is Plano ; these days. . . ?

I lived in Garland for my early days (even worked in Plano ; Richardson ; and Garland ) . . . . . when you had too drive 'somewhere' just too get from Garland to Richardson.
In my old days , back after my Uncle Sam tour ; I even worked at the old "Gemini Drive In" over at Forest Lane & Hwy 75 for a year or so. I can remember riding down 75 to the
Plano Rd. Drive-In , on my motorcycle.

That was back "when Plano - - - was , plain - o " .

Welcome to SNS , and glad to have you with us .

(I even spent my last 8 - 9 yrs , in Texas , working at the Richardson Paint & Body Shop - then, moved to Az in the summer of 1980 ) .

Welcome John. From picture looks like a nice ride. Almost without exception they need work to get them close to what your want. Then more work to upgrade to next level / comfort state. This is a great site with helpful knowledgeable folks. Ask the question and someone will try to help. Good Luck, enjoy the journey.

Welcome aboard! Love my 67, some parts will give you challenges that are year specific but you have plenty of people and knowledge hidden in this place to get you where you are going. Best of luck!

Welcome from another NorTexan! I see my share of 75 in Plano at minimum twice a day... cool to see someone so close! Good luck with it - everything ends up needing more help than you originally think lol (at least that's been my experience over several projects).

EVERYTHING north of 635 and east of 35 has just exploded in the last 10-15 years, specifically within the most recent 5 or so. North/south traffic is an absolute nightmare either way; forget a nice Sunday drive; unless you live back in the woods you'll have the nice lull of a highway to drone you to sleep; pick a day and time and I guarantee you'll have to fight crowds somewhere. So many people from out of state have moved here, nearly doubling the population. The closer you get to Dallas proper, the higher the housing costs, so it's driving all the new "Texans" north. I'm all for growth and that jazz, but it's gotten to the point where the growth of people has so fast outpaced the growth of infrastructure it's actually laughable.

Welcome to the site, and glad to see and read so many SNS people in this area. I am in Wylie, and my 63 still lays in-waiting. Haven't logged in for a couple years, so it seems like quite the coincidence that I see your post first. Again, welcome!

.................................. that would be : " Wide Awake Wylie " .

One of my Sisters lived in Wylie for over 30 years , while I lived mostly in Garland - - I'd go to Wylie alot (or even to Farmersville ; my two Bosses - in the body shop - both lived in
Farmersville & owned Richardson Paint & Body) . Later on my mom moved out too live by one of my younger Sisters - - in Copeville , out close to the Power Plant @ Lake Lavon.
My oldest brother (we both were working at Richardson P & B ) = he also lived in Copeville .
Then, I 'mention Sachse' . . . I still have a high school friend , that still lives in Sachse (for 35 yrs. - when that was a (very) small town .
Brings back alot of 'old' really good times - when, I was growing up. Thanks guys ............... ( I even 'started' my "flying lessons" out at the old "Shiloh air port" ).

later , jim

You should see Frisco, talking about growth. I can't say I have heard of that garage.

I don't mind business growth but all the freakin apartments makes me want to leave the state. And they keep building them. Glad I'm retired so I don't commute with them.

Funny . . . we were just watching the "Frisco Fighters" (IFL team) playing @ GreenBay , last week (on our YouTube channel) . We have season tickets for our local IFL
football team = the Northern Arizona Wranglers .
