Ok, I bought a cam today for my big block. I wanna know what you guys think this combo will run. 69 nova 10 point cage. 8.5 10 bolt with 4.10 gears, spool. 28x9 slicks. It will either have cal tracs or ladder bars. turbo 400 trans I have a 4000 conv. but may get another. .100 over 454, 13.1 comp. closed chamber rect. port heads. 2.25 1.88 valves. The heads have not been ported. The cam is a lunati with [email protected] .050 with 680 and 700 lift. solid roller. It will either have a team g or vic jr intake. I'm thinkin a holley hp 950. What do ya think?

Not much duration for that many inches--I'm running 260/268 in my 410" small block, and that's the smallest cam I've had in over 10 years. I also run either a 975 Demon or 1050 Dominator, so you can guess where I'm headed as to your carb.........

Well, the cam was a deal I couldn't pass up. I didn't want to turn it much more than 6700 rpm since I'm using a cast steel crank. I know those heads are gonna want some rpm though. I may be totaly wrong here, but with the big intake runners is a smaller carb gonna keep my charge velocity higher? I'm gonna end up hittin this with a little spray.
