MSD timing retard
you might look at a MSD timing retard ,
I know alot of people like to lock a distributor out at full advance , if your leaving with a transbrake at 4000 and higher that takes the advance out of the equation. Footbrakin' , IMO is a different animal.
I was just at my friends engine shop and this topic came up , and he told me a circle tracker doesn't come out of the corner ( he does a bunch of oval stuff , some drag too ) nearly as well with the advance locked out. A footbrake car is standing still , not rolling in high gear trying to accelerate out of the corner at the bottom of its range when the throttle is sent to WOT. But i have to think it closely resembles the same situation.
