I am fairly new to drag racing. I bracket race a mild 406 that i shift at 6200, it has a hydrauic flat-tappet cam. I run a TH350 and 8" converter. The car weights 3100lbs with me in it. Run 6.70's /6.80's in the 1/8th.
My question is how often/how many passes before I freshen/rebuild
- the motor
- the trans
- the converter

Change the oil regularly and it should last a very long time. I wouldn't touch it unless i suspected a problem.

change oil often and keep running it. the car will let you know when things need freshened up. also check your filter for metal shavings i usually cut my filter apart to see whats in side of it.

I agree with the comments of everyone. The only thing I would add is to get an inexpensive valve spring tester and check your springs while they are good for a reference. That way you can check them this winter to see if they are ok and not worry about them till next off season. That way if the car slows down you have one thing to fix or eliminate.
