I have a turbo 350 transmission. I replaced the original dipstick tube with a flexible transmission dipstick tube. The problem is the tube is leaking at the base where it goes into the transmission. Can't seem to fix the problem. The reason I replaced the original was it was bent and hitting the firewall and leaked also. Does anybody have a suggestion. I would appreciate it. Thanks Roger.

You could have damaged the "O-ring" when installing the new tube.

You might have to pull it out and buy a new "O-ring". Make sure you put some tranny fluid on the oil ring before installing the tube.

certainly the new tube came with a new o ring.

Drain the trans
pull the tube
clean the opening and the tube end with a good solvent
apply some blue permatex ( silicone ) to the O ring
reinstall.

I ran into this once before. There's two types of seals. You may have the wrong tube and or seal for your year trans. I posted a picture/details but don't know where it is.

Some of the flexible style tubes the lower fitting screws together.

You can tighten the unit and it will squeeze the o-rings.

Some are just grooved aluminum bong, so the o-rings might be cut or damaged.

FYI, the cooling lines can leak and fool you into thinking it's the dipstick.

Also over filling will cause problems as well.
