What's the easiest way to remove the pedal assembly bracket from a '71?

I've unbolted it from the firewall, removed the nuts by the column,.. It's free, but there is no way to finagle it out of there with all the wires and crap... clutch rod is disconnected.

Do I need to drop the steering column to give me more room? Or is there a trick I'm missing..

It's just to replace bushings, but I'm 6'4" 240lbs, so It's tough for me to crawl under there and replace them with the bracket still in there.

Thanks:)

A lot easier to just replace the bushings with the bracket in place. The bracket is a bear to get out and reinstall.
If you need more room it is easier to remove the seat than the bracket. I am 5'6" and take the seat out to work under the dash. Lot easier laying flat on my back then scrunching up under the dash.

Thanks guys, never even thought about taking the seat out, tunnel vision I guess.

Dropped the column and got it out, dreading the install...:)
