The cardboard divider stops about 3" from the floorboard. Will I create any ventilation or airflow problem's if I run the steel panel to the floorboard? I'm trying to reduce cabin noise & after installed I'll insulate the steel divider with sound deadner.

I did my 67 behind the rear seat with 16 gauge aluminum then dyna matted it and then the foil covered jute over that. I haven't detected any lack of ventilation. I believe it made difference in reducing noise. If you have the head liner out don't forget the under side of the roof. Just did Dyna mat on the roof.

I did the floor the same way as the trunk divider.

Ideally you would want to seal off the trunk completely if possible to reduce the chance of exhaust fumes entering the car so go for it:yes:

Are you going to weld it in? rivet ? screws? - maybe think about some seam sealer too...

I'm going to screw it in good, including the X-support behind the seat. Then cover it in RAAMmat & Ensolite for heat & sound reduction.

I used stainless steel also, then Dynomatted.
