Building a custom center console in my 72 and I need the know where the shifter will come through the floor. I don't have the engine or trans yet so I was wondering if somebody can measure for me or give my an idea.

Also wondering if the trans is in the same location on a sb/bb. I am going to be running a big block.

OK I found it, here check out this link, it will give you the stock opening for console cars. These cars had a hump with the console for shifter mechanism clearance.
