I have a 454 with MT valve covers and factory air which makes getting the covers off a real PITA. (no clearance) I Have searched extensively and can't find any for BBC. Small blocks, no problem.
Does any body know where I can get a pair. Makes valve adjustments easier.
Thanks,
Bill

Here ya go! I cannot attest to their efficacy or leak factor but.. two-piece they are :)
Hope these would work for you.

Someone beat me to the Hardin ones. Here's other options from the offshore powerboat industry. Again price is high. Offshore Power boat engines and parts make our car hobby seem cheap
Indeed, like comparing bicycles to motorcycles... Crazy expensive!

I can't see paying that much for valve covers. *Anybody know of some set that could be removed easily? *
Now I have to loosen all a/c compressor bolts...no fun, limited access. Loosen passenger motor mount, jack up engine enough to remove cover AND then reassemble.

M/T valve covers have a pretty wide flange that is hard to clear.

Bought a pair of standard covers but, the side clearance still won't let me put on or take off without jacking everything around. Anybody know where to find cheaper 2 piece valve covers. The ones above, I can't afford.

No both sets look a little different. The M/T valve covers I have are a little wider at the outer flanges. Pix attached. The more things I try just makes me realize the problem is the A/C compressor and the airbox on the firewall really restrict

me in their removal. I got this car with the BBC already in it. Love it but I do have problems.

Sorry...need another pic showing that those are just long nuts holding the cover down BUT,
I think you are right. I will remove the studs from the head and buy
Elongated threaded stud/nut combinations. My biggest problen is not being able to clear the studs in the heads to disassemble and ressemble. Without studs in the head, I hope to get them off easier.
I wish I had thought of that, duh.
