Hey Everyone,

I am in the middle of installing a shift kit in my '74 turbo 350 and I came upon a part I didn't see when taking everything apart. I think it is a pump pressure screen. It looks kind of like a small cartridge fuel filter. 3/8" diameter, inch or so long. Anyway I have googled until my keyboard bled and I can't find a diagram showing me where it goes.

So here I am up on blocks and no where I can go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doug

It's either the oil pump screen or the governor screen. Both go above the valve body. You'll need a layout to see where they go. Ron Sessions book "Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 Handbook" shows the locations and it is an excellent reference to have for rebuilding the TH350

It's either your oil pump pressure screen or your governor-oil screen. They both are under the valve body. If you already remounted the valve body, it will need to come back off to install the screen.

The oil pump pressure screen looks like a black 'wire nut'

The governor screen looks like a long dunce cap.

I can post a picture out of my manuel if you need to see where they go exactly.

Hope this helps some and let me know if you need the pic.
