Bob, did all these cars with the "S" code get headrests? I ask because I have that code with no headrests.
An S, E or A following the trim code indicated a headrest car. This was not a popular option and many were removed over the years with new
seat covers installed to cover the holes in the seat back top. Could be the case with yours, Joe?

Thanks Bob, that very well could be the case. I'll have to look into that when I get the car out of storage in Spring.

I think a lot of things got built if the buyer or dealer had enough pull.

I've had many people tell me that Marina blue was an SS only color, but I owned a 66 100 2 door sedan that was Marina blue and still had factory paint on it when I got it in the 80's.
Pre-COPO... Or maybe secret COPO prior to public utilization???

As mentioned previously, the 3 colors reserved for super sports in 1966 were opened up to all models later in the production year. It's unknown exactly when that
was. You will find non SS cars built after that time in Marina Blue, Lemonwood Yellow and Chateau Slate.

Late to this discussion, but years ago I saw an Aztec Bronze '66 wagon in Escondido, CA. Too rusty to make a go of it, but it was a 6 cylinder car with fawn interior. Thanks for the definitive answer from the dealer book, too. Wish more buyers had ordered the color.
