Anyone have a recommendation for what Magnaflow muffler or similar will fit nicely under a stock 1966 Chevy II SS? I want a nice throaty sound yet be able to drive over a speed bump without scraping.

personally not a fan of magnaflow but find a better muffler shop that can install the system without scraping. Also depending how low your car is will dictate scraping too.

I like the sound of Flowmaster too but they seem to have a metal pinging sound I don't like. What would you recommend? Stock height all around.
Built 350/350 and Muncie M21 through headers. I want a nice throaty sound so I was thinking about at least 2.5" pipe possibly 3" to really open it up, but I don't want too low of back pressure too.

I like the dynomax super turbos. On your car I would do a 2.5" system. I don't think you will benefit with a 3"system, plus increasing the pipe size just makes it louder. You might look into the Hooker Areo chambers too.
Flowmasters I'm not a fan either because everybody has 'em but maybe the super 40's or the super 44's may do the trick.
