Heys guys what are your thoughts on motor plates. At what HP would you install one vs motor mounts. This is for a barely street legal 63 that is slowly turning into a all drag car.

I may be wrong but my reasoning behind using motor plates is that it allows you to change the position of the engine, moving it more to the rear. Helps transfer weight. I do not think it's based on a particular horsepower level. I have seen alot of tube chassis frames running a front motorplate as well as a mid plate sandwiched between engine and tranny.

It is also recommended at around 900 hp. They help evenly distribute the torque of the motor to the chassis.
