HAVE A 350 70010 BLOCK:

TRW H6179 050 32401 PISTON DOMED
HEADS 3998993 NEW SLEEVES FOR GUIDES, WITH 202 VALVES INSTALLED

HAVE RIGHT NOW A VICTOR jr INTAKE WITH FRONT GALLEY CUT AWAY FULL OPEN FRONT OF PLENUM.

A 750 HOLLEY, MECH SEC.

QUESTION: LIFT, HOW MUCH CAN VALVES LIFT? WITH OUT INTERFERENCE?
OR WILL THIS BE NO PROBLEM?

HAVE FEW CAMS HERE , COMP 168, CRANE 272 BOTH NEW. BOTH MILD.
HOWEVER LOOKING INTO THE HEAD BLOCK COMBO FINDING IT TO BE ABOUT 11.00 COMPRESSION, DONT WANT A GROUND POUNDER ON THE STREET BUT GOOD POWER, AND THINKING GOING TO BIG ON CAM WONT HELP THINKING OF COMPRESSION ALREADY HAVING POWER.

PLEASE GUYS LET ME KNOW, THOUGHTS ON TRW DOME PISTONS / 202 VALVES.

For the best results ,we need to know your setup-gears trans/convertor.The TRW's look like .250 domes with 993 heads(74-76cc) and .040 compressed gasket yeild 10- 11 to 1.Need good fuel for those ratio's.

My example-- 350+.030 with Oe dish pistons,487 cast heads w/2.02 /1.60,Comp 280H(.488 lift) cam, springs,Alloy Roller Rockers.Edelbrock TM 1 intake and marine QJet.350 turbo, shift kit,3k stall B&m convertor,3.73 gears, headers & Petronix distributor.Wth an old pair of M&H bias ply street slicks, closed exhaust,no additional timing& no race fuel this went [email protected] in my 2wdr S Blazer.
441,993, 487 are the best flowing large chamber heads made by GM.As far as lift goes,on a race prepped engine the $$ky is the limit.Run either cam and have fun with out burning a hole in your wallet.

Your example sounds like a fun little driver. I ran that cam a few times and with 3000 stall and that 3.73 gear it's gonna be fun.:yes::yes:

In my opinion you will have too much compression for either of your cam choices. I think you need more overlap than what both of those cams have. They are in the low / mid 50's. I think the JPB cam (Comp 280H) with 60* of overlap would work better with your piston / head combo and still have a lower @.050 number for good low end torque....Will allow more advance without the PING and you are going need advance with those pistons.....Jack
