When I bought the car the seller told me that “the crossmember had been cut out to accommodate the larger pan.” I will try to post some pics soon, I am on the road right now. Is this an issue? Can it be replaced or repaired or will I need to replace the subframe assembly? I found a subframe for all years up to 73 but not 74. Is an aftermarket available? Thanks in advance.

You won’t be able to post pictures until you reach a post count of 25.

Aftermarket crossmembers are available and stock units should not be too much trouble to find. It will dependon what you have going on build wise.. Camaro/Firebird aka F body’s share the same basic front subframe assembly as the Nova so aftermarket suspensions and clips are readily available..

Here is a 700r4 with deep pan in a 72. The 700r4 is not stock and the cross member is from CPP. Good fit, does not hit the floorboard and allows plenty of room for the exhaust to pass underneath. Cost was $180, G-Force can be a little to a lot more.
