I’m doing a mini tub on my 63 and just want to go to the frame rail. Now that I have it cut out it only seems like I’m gaining 1/2” to an inch in the center. Does that sound right or am I just looking at it wrong. Thanks.

Are you using DSE mini tubs or just doing your own? DSE has templates with theirs.

I tubed mine up to the edge of the frame rail, and I can easily get a 275 in there. Now I wish I would have notched the frame to accomodate a 295.

If you have the skills to cut your factory inner wheel well out and can put it back you have the skills to go ahead and notch the frame for the larger tire. It was intimidating when I started mine but if I can do it anybody can. It just takes time and patience. The worst part of the job is working up the courage to make the first cut. After that you are just labor bound. When I saw the larger tire under the car it was worth every minute of work. 285x35x18
