So the instructions that came with the replacement cylinder were OK...but not 100 %. It said to pry up on the tab on the retaining clip to release the cylinder from the steering column. I tried clips didnt help in removing the old cylinder. They basically just fell off when I tried to bend them.....(hope this makes sense). I need help with re assembling the remaining parts. I got the cylinder mated to the plastic gear and the gear is meshed with the geared shaft that hooks onto the rod. The key moves back and forth freely and it appears to be activating the rod in the steering column. feels like less of a turn now though. So here is where I am.....

How do I insert these clips? Do I really need them? I was able to get the old cylinder out and install the new one.

In what order do I reassemble these remaining parts? This is annoying
