We were going stay with the original color, code 24 ascot blue but my daughter decided she wanted something a little darker and a little brighter.

We've been looking at newer cars but nothing really fit what we were looking for.

Finally, after seeing a really nice '68 Camaro at a local car show over the weekend we think we found it. '68 Camaro code #67 LeMans blue.

Pics below what do you think?

Our car will have the lower rocker molding, side window frame molding and drip rail, chome fender louvers, "350" emblems above front marker light, "cowl induction" emblem on the hood (not pictured) and white Chevelle style ss stripes on the hood and trunk, and 17" frt and 18" rear ttll wheels.

Original color:

LeMans blue:

I like it. With the pics side by side you can kinda get a feel for it. Looks good. Oh, darker and brighter... Hha.. Yeah, I get it.. Ok, my goofy description. Smooth and bright. Its not overly bright, to be sharp, but has a smooth look to it witch compliments the lines of the car. JR

Oh yeah, is it your daughters car?? Im assuming yes...

Oh yeah said:
Ya it's her car. We started this project two years ago when she was 14.
It's not very often you see a girl get interested in cars, so when she asked me about a Nova for her first I said heck ya, lets do it.
She works at an espresso stand and hands every check over to me for the car. The original plan was I would match her 50/50 but we stepped up the quality of the build a little so I having to make up the difference.

It's going to be a really nice car, something I hope she takes good care of and keeps forever. It's at a friends body shop now, he's doing what he can on it in between insurance jobs. He'll have for two months at least.

Man, that's gonna be beautiful! I really like that color. I am looking for a similar color to paint my car. Here is the color it is now. Pretty close, but maybe a little darker than the Le Mans blue. Your daughter is going to have one really nice ride when you guys are done.

Thanks, yes every example and every Idea helps to make a decision like this. Once you do it you're stuck with it, right?

Here's a pic of a car that was on ebay awhile back, this is closest I could find to what our car will look like. Our car will sit lower in the front though, with smaller tires up front. Ours will also have the fender louvers and white chevelle ss stripes and ttll wheels.

Here's an interior shot of the car above.

This is what our interior will look like, however we had them done with the pattern of the 67/68 Camaro deluxe interior with the white stripes.

The upolstry shop called to say they are done so we will pick them up tomorrow. I will post pics of them when we get them home. They recovered the original dash pad in matching blue vinyl as well, I'm curious to see how that turned out. I'll pay the final tally tomorrow, I'll let everyone know what it cost too, I already have an idea, it's alot.

i agree!
i am probably way too obsessed with the idea of painting mine!
ive downloaded over 200-300 pics with different paint colors and ive switched back and forth from: black...light blue...gun metal gray...to currently a darker blue.

its tough.
i think you are doing a good job by thinking this out...
i cant make up my mind!
good luck.

if you would like to see any other pics ive got many.

I'll offer another suggestion...I just sprayed my car Mulsanna Blue. looks pretty close to the Lemans. And its affected by different lighting conditions. I'm happy.

I really like your original color. curious what size wheels and tires you have. I like the stance a lot.

wow! just saw your pic trail file. guess I'm a little late but boy, what a tremendous job and great photo album of the process. Glad your daughter got her hands dirty too.

The Mulsanna blue looks very nice indeed. That may be a color we need to look at a little closer.

Those rallys were just something we threw on to hold it up. We just ordered new tires and wheels from driverzinc.

We ordered 17 x 7 front with 4.25" backspace with 215/50/17 and rear 18 x 8 with 5.25" backspace with 255/45/18, with ttll wheels and bfg g-force tires.
