Seeing that your moving away from the stock intake and fuel injections I would go with another cam. Look at the Lunati Voodoo series, I've run the 60121 and 60123 in LT1's with good results the tighter LSA will help. The big thing with LT1's is the optispark and the PCM they both always cause problem. As it stands you have pretty much setup a LT1 to run like a SBC, but are taking advantage of reverse cooling and factory roller lifters. The Trickflow heads are ok, I think the Dart heads for the LT1 are better though, or you cant try www.advancedinduction.com for some ported stockers they have plenty to backup there work.

well thats not real enthusiastic,,cant afford an LSpowerplant, im only 21, not alot of money on hand either
Better of doing it once !!!.....sorry but you'll regret it...a std block chevy w/ a good set of heads and cam will make a TON more power!!! You can make 500hp pretty easy for under 3500.00......that combo you got wont make near that !!

I beg to differ!!!!

LT1's ROCK!!!!!!! They are a good engine at a good price. Flashable computer, easy setup!!!! I bought the complete motor for $500 off of craigslist...another $500 to go through it and freshen it up. Can smoke em all the way down the street!!!! Unless you are strictly racing, I would keep the fuel injection. Well I guess this is the drag forum. Oh well. My 2 cents... I love the power of this motor for street use. and yes the A/C works. Live in Phx...got to have it...

well guys, ya gotta consider that i only paid 2k for this LT1 and i also recieved over 7k woth of reciepts for the parts in this motor from the guy i bought it from, this motor in the previous owners camaro made 456rwhp and420rwt on the chassis dyno through a 700-r4, now im adding a bigger cam, and freshening up the heads an the rest of the motor, so i appreciate all of your opinions but i got a steal when i purchased this motor so im gonna run wih it,, it is stout as hell for what it is:cool:

I don't get why people are saying this engine won't make the power a gan I will? In the description, he's running a carb and an HEI, no computer, no Opti-spark. Also, new aftermarket heads. So basically he's running a Gen I with reverse cooling, and a factory roller cam set up, and a 1 peice rear amin seal block. Looks like a winner to me. I'd agree on the other heads and a Voodoo cam though, but yea, I'd say you're in good shape.

nice header choice, i am running those also. and why all the negativity on the LT1's? but really running a gen1 would make more sense if you are converting it to carb anyway. better and less expensive parts and easier to make more power. good luck on the buildup.

well the whole reason im going so extensive with this project is because its so different, im all about different things, i mean really?, who else has a "carbureted" LT1 now a' days, really? mine is the only one ive ever seen

that red SS on the pinks episode was a LS1 car. and all the 7 sec. f-bodies are of the LS1 kind also. there are maybe 1 or 2 true LT1's in the 7's if that many. just not any interest in making them fast after the birth of the LS motors and i can surely see why.

Don't let them bust yer nuts. How fast are you looking to go, or are you just building it to enjoy it?

I mean why build a small block when you can do a big block? :stir:
im building it to mainly enjoy and play around in, not really gonna be a track car, just something to have fun with.

and originally i wanted to go BB or LS, but again none of those options were cost effective for me, especially since i got laid off, maybe in the future one day:cool:
