I mounted mine upside down at a angle above the drivers side kick panel, with the connections facing the dash.

I ended up scrapping the foam and used that perforated stuff you line your kitchen cabinets with. Glove box liner will fit no problem. Probably not as professional as Bill's (klean63's) location, but I really wanted my radio to stay.
