Hey guys.....
I need your help in finding a good location in my engine bay for a remote oil filter kit. First off, it is for a 1964 Chevy II 400, 194 Inline 6. I'm looking to buy the following:

Remote Oil Filter

Does anyone have a remote Oil filter setup? If so, can you share some photos?

Why do you want to remote mount your filter on an inline 6? It's not easy to get to now?

I was thinking the same thing...If you must though- i would suggest mounting on the firewall if you have room...

I'd put it somewhere that you couldn't burn yourself.I put one on the firewall and placed my arm against it and burnt it.Those oil filters get hot.

Here is where I placed mine..But I had to since the wide rail Dart block did not have and oil filter..

are there any advantages to having a remote oil filter setup?

Took a nightmare of a system off someone's car recently. The filter was mounted upside down so when you removed it, it dripped all over everything. Hoses were twisted and it leaked. I say forget it, it ain't worth it.

Remote Oil Filter

To be honest, I was thinking of it as a way to dress up the engine bay a bit. I'm running an inline six so I have a tone of bare space. BUT, if there is an advantage to it, fill me in.....

There is no advantage to it for your application, only disadvantages like having a hose blow and loosing all your oil and your motor, and them maybe spinning out in your own oil.

They are only used on race cars where clearance is an issue or when dual filters are needed, my buddy has to run one on his turbo ford because the headers are pointing forward and run right in front of the stock oil filter mount location.
