i have the heidits front chip. is there any tips or tricks... just seems the whole thing is out of wack. now i now nothing is going to fit right. but ?
How do you square it up? I just don't know where to start. I just put the fenders on and try to put the bolts to the innner fender to the fender. But it's all jacked up
disconect the core support from the frame, bolt the fenders to the core support ,& block up the support so that the fenders align with the doors. If the core support will not line up to the frame mounting points, you can adjust or shim the down tubes on each side untill the support bolts to the frame.
Did you put your shims back in the down bars for your clip? As stated before, bolt the fenders to the support and shim from there, also at the top on each side, above the firewaill at the valence, it should be really close to the stock shims you had in there before...if you didn't pitch them.......tell me you kept them.......:turn:
I have all the shims in that heidits gave me. I do have the front core support tight. I will losen that a try to work it around. It's like it would all most work at the top for the door and fenders to meet. But at the bottom it's to far put. Like two inches. Iam off Friday, so I will be f'ing with it all day. All y'all are sure helping me out. I have never done this with a car. So iam really scratching my head ok this one
no it's sitting on her feet. iam doing some of the posting from my phone, so there's words in the last thread that should not be there. hhahahah.. anyways
will mess with it in the morning. tom the car really didnt have shims. just a washer for the driver side and i dont think there was any for the pass... iam going to try to do the front core thing
The hood brackets go behind the inner fenders then your hood hinges mount up to the inner fenders - inner fender sandwich!
You may not need your Heidt supplied shims- Every car is different. I didn't use nay on the 63 and the 66 has 'em. I start with out them and shim as you go.
If you can post some pics fo us and we'll walk ya thru it.
