I found working on my Nova was like going to the gym....You have to WANT to getter done...But patiently....I'm going at mine slowly and mathoticly...Stay with it...Does your SB need to be rebuilt? Find a good machinest.. That will take some time if you disassemble it by yourself...I took my head in first....after I got them back..I took the block in...I've been working on my 66 since Oct..It's my first overhaul..New parts I've added...
Double roller timing chain. Pistons, rings, bearings, lifters, rockers, cam, front sump oil pan, pump, Had my crank polished, Lot's of stuff from Ebay, I wire brushed all the head bolts, and other engine parts using my grinder so I could reuse them.. I bought a sand blaster and use 30 mesh sand .. and most of the parts cleaned up great...I used stripper for my hood.Primed, painted and added insulation to the underside..Took a couple of hours but it cleaned up really nice. I'm thinking of letting a body shop do the rest then have her painted.. My interior's not bad..It has white leather seats I'd like to keep..Right now I'm cleaning the engine compartment so I can paint it while the engines out....Anyway the list continues to grow..Everytime I think I'm ahead of the game..I have to reach into my wallet...But I think it will be worth it...And most importantly...My Wife feels the same...I'm new to the SNS and find it very informitive....Good luck The end results will be worth it..One more thing...Being a first timer at this...I find myself doing Mega research..I'm not half as smart as the pro's on this site..

Good luck!
I started my quick rebuild about 15 years ago!
And I'm still working on it because time and money never happen at the same time... one or the other!

and room! that was also a side track, had to build a garage to work in... there went that money!

Ask away somebody should be able to help!

Mark
I'm lucky in away...I'm in the sunny state of California....temps about 75 today....So I work on the car outside and the engine in my shop..
