Does anyone know if when replacing the manifold gasket do you need to put the restrictor insert in, i don't remenber doing this B-4 but the older i get seems like the less i remenber. :rolleyes:

That passage is for manifold heat on street driven cars. You only need it if you still have the heat riser "flapper" valve on the exhaust manifold. Some people use the restrictor to reduce the amount of hot gases heating the manifold.
If you have headers you should block the exhaust crossover passage completely.

Thanks Paul, if what your saying is that i should block the ports off with the plates because i am running headers. When i took the maniufold off just last week they were not, does that cause any harm to the motor?

well I wouldnt think it would cause harm but I do suspect it would lower your performance somewhat.:)
