I am in the process of swapping out my Performer with a Weiand intake and was wondering if there is a sealant needed around the water passage bolts? I have heard coating the threads with Mylanta but I am looking for something that is found in the parts stores?

The rest of the bolts were either get a locking washer or red thread compound.

Any sugestions??

the Mylanta/Malox is a antiseize for dry locations.. popularized by the aircraft industry.....

for water bolts.. permatex #2 non Harding form a gasket.. or Permatex Ultra Black ....

flat washers is all thats needed 25 to 35 FTlbs....

EDIT if your putting the bolts in to aluminum heads.. you need to use Nickle antiseize for all execpt where they protrude in to the water jackets.. then Ultra black or #2 permatex should ne used...
