Pattern

Torque spec is 95lbs.
I do 3 passes iIE: 30,60,95

NOTE: On a L6 engine the water jackets are open in block. they are famous for seeping water up around the head bolts.

Take a tap and clean the head bolt holes in block, clean the head bolts.

I use Permatex #2 ( or Aviation High tack sealant) on the threads and put oil under the head of the bolt.

Just to be sure on the diagram 13, 14 are the front of the head right?

Nope.

Look at orientation of the valve cover.


This pic is the same orientation as the diagram. Front to the left, rear to the right
