I just got my 1973 nova hatchback and am having trouble with the ignition. I am not able to start it because the ignition swich will not turn. It will turn to the on position but will not turn past that. Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Is it, or was it, a column shift car? If it was, the part of the column that moves with the shifter could have rotated-try moving the column back up like it would be if in park. It could also be inside the column-there is a rod that moves in and out when you turn the key, and connects to the actual switch mechanism. Just guessing here!
