I am swapping my old smog heads for Vortecs (8062). I have a set of self aligning rockers but I have a few questions I am really hoping you can help me out with.

1.) Will my stock pushrods be ok? If not, how do I measure to see what size I need?

2.) If I buy roller rockers rather than use the self aligning rockers, would I need guide plates?

3.) Do they make self aligning roller rockers that don't require guide plates?

4.) Can you run roller lifters on a hydraulic flat tappet cam?

1. stock pushrod length may be ok, the only way to know is to install a set and see how the geometry looks. If they are the wrong length, summit /jegs/ any performance parts house sells a pushrod length checker so you can measure the length that you will need.

2. If you opt to use standard roller rockers you will need to use guide plates and hardened pushrods.

3. self aligning rockers are made to be used WITHOUT guideplates.
