What are the questions?

One initial answer would be that the 250 was not available until 1967. They work great, but a '62 with 6 cylinder would have been a 194 CI engine. You can check the casting numbers on the engine to find out exactly what you have.

I think the inline 6 engines are great. If compression is up, they aren't blowing any smoke or leaking badly, they're fine.

Some guys are going to tell you that the old I6 is a boat anchor. Another is going to tell you it's the best thing GM ever built.
