I should know by now to not let @Stroker Ace Ventura be my voice of reason. I ordered the seats for the Nova.
Comfort Fashion accessory Leather Chair Pattern

"The Plan (revision number 98743927)" is:
+Get car up onto cribs & measure for driveshaft and order driveshaft...this really should have been the priority.
+Finish last years business - finish mounting up rear shocks, plumb brakelines, hook up e-brake cable, don't forget about the drivers side front wheel bearing cap weirdness, install grease fittings and grease everything, don't forget to drain some gear oil out of the rear because I overfilled it.
+Get driveshaft and install
+Get the welding done. I can probably drive it to some place to have it done.
+New business is going to be these seats, rebuild the steering column, procure a shifter and reverse valve body for the TH-350 (this is so that I can install the floor shifter I want that will be compatible with the TH-400 later).

Bought from Race Ramps. Not too expensive, made in the USA, pretty lightweight and a nice little tool to have for certain situations.
These are pretty damn nice for the price. I think I may order two sets of the 6"/12" split. Nice to have the option for different heights. I thought they were metal from your picture but they're FOAM!!! Pretty cool!!

They are unlike any sort of foam i’ve encountered before, they support 1500 pounds each from what I gather.

Yesterday the high performance transmission engineer called me for a computer issue. I suspect he felt like I wasn't going to help him with his issue without an update on my TH-400. :ROFLMAO: He said the tech support department has been using it and that it's going to get rebuilt soon. No big deal on my side, no rush. I've still been kicking around what I want to do and how I want to do it. It's, "do I want to run the big block I have? Do I want to buy another small block? Do I want to go down the LS path?" but more than anything "How do I want to approach this so that I can actually enjoy this car while still working on it and moving it towards what I want long term."

It was about 50 degrees out yesterday and I got the itch to try to measure for a driveshaft. It didn't take me long to realize that I'm not very well positioned to do such a thing. As I understand it, I want the car sitting on the ground, at ride height etc. The problem is that I can't fit under the car to measure it. I came back inside after being outside for 5-10 minutes, went online and ordered two sets of cribs so I can get this thing off of the ground and have access underneath. Maybe there were other ways I could accomplish this but I figured a set of cribs would be useful for welding underneath etc. which still needs to happen.

As soon as these things come in, I'm going to get the car up on them and measure for the driveshaft and order it. From there I expect that we'll be seeing nicer weather and I can work on all of the little odds and ends that need to happen before she can go back on the road. I'm thinking that maybe this year I'll do some minor stuff...keep her on the road as much as possible, maybe convert the column and seats and floor shifter. I'd really like to bring this car to the company picnic to be the only car that has parts we actually make here, installed on the car.
In one post he solves the wheel stand problem... I feel stupid.

Yeah, but do they weigh 70#? Did those things even exist when i made those stands? They must be new! 😆
Dunno the history but they weigh practically nothing (7# each.. WOW!)

Doesn't that piss you off 🙄
😆 nope. All I can do is laugh at myself. I do think someone suggested them back then but knowing me, I balked at the cost. I do admire the precision and cold blooded efficiency in which @unstable dispatched resolution to the problem! Well played Sir.

@kimmer71 @Stroker Ace Ventura @railroaderman
how is it that I feel left out and confused on my own build thread? story of my life.

I’m gathering that @kimmer71 fabricated something that serves the same purpose as the cribs? Oddly enough, the thought never even crossed my mind to make my solution…guess that shows the programming by my capitalist masters is complete…you got a problem? for only $19.95 we got the solution 😂😂😂

I will also add that while I hate wasting money on stupid stuff, I have wasted plenty of my own time in the past with stupid ideas. Really when you stop and think that time in your life is the most valuable resource and you know it will run out one day but do not know when…you start making decisions a little differently

As I get older, time is far more valuable than $. I quantify everything in time. If I can make it quickly, I make it. If it would entail me taking hours of my time, possibly new tools/things, I look at my hourly salary at my job and quantify the time it would take for the thing I need. Some I make, some I buy. Sometimes, the joy of making said item outweighs the savings... Sometimes not. If I can work two hours at my job and pay for the item, then so be it... If I have to work 5 hours on the item to make it myself, not including the parts, then nope. I buy it

This will bring you up to speed on my "saga". What took you 3 min. to solve took me 3 months. :)

Wheel cribs or Jack stands or what?

Didn't mean to take your thread on an unrelated side trip. I was trying to provide some support for kimmer71 building his crib stands. Build, Buy, or Recycle. It all comes down to getting what you want done.

Now, what was being discussed. Oh yeah, the seats. Looks like you made another good choice. Looks comfy.
