Ok all, i need opinions on cam selection. I have 383 all forged dish piston, 6 in rods, 750 dbl pumper mech carb, alum head 62 cc chambers, 3.42 gear, 25" tire height, automatic th350, im looking for a cam that performs well and sounds like a have a cam. I found a few tell me what you think. Vehicle use will be 90%street use 10% track visit. Im not concerned with vacuum as i am running manual steering and brakes.

Lunati 227/233, .489/.504, 110 lobe rpm range 1800-6200
edlebrock 232/234 .488/.488 108 lobe rpm 1500-6500
im also looking at the isky cams.

Thanks, len

With that engine I would settle for nothing less than a HYD Roller.

I would call Lunati and go by their recommendation!

Period!

I see you have the Voodoo 60103 cam listed, but if you're going to run a hydraulic flat tappet cam, with your specs, I'd run the 60104, and maybe even the 60105. Remember that the rpm range and power estimates are based on a 350 engine for a sbc, so the power range will be a little lower in a 383 that what's listed. It's usually only a couple hundred rpm, but that can make a difference sometimes.

Now that being said, I agree that you really need to run a hydraulic roller. The Voodoo 60112 would be a torque monster in your car, and if you want a little more up top with a little more rumble, the 60113 would be great.

Thanks, I would like to put a hyd roller in, but I can't swing it on the budget. Were as the flat tappet is only a couple hundred bucks. Being I just spent 2K on the block. So I sensing the Lunati Cam is preferred over all others? thanks.
