i have a 62 c10 pickup with a pre 87 350 in it.the truck has no wiring.how can i wire it to run without installing a wiring harness etc?
I'm in the same boat seeing how I melted all the starter wires accidentily the other day. Now I'm looking to bypass the key and put an on/off switch and a push putton for the starter. Is there a wireing diagram out there some where?

Thanks

run your positive to your starter, a 10ga wire to your alternator and another 10ga wire to your fuse box, or inline fuse it and keep going to the key switch. ground your negative to the chasis and engine. run a 12ga or 14ga from either the R or S terminal on the starter solenoid all the way into the cab and to a key switch. the back on the igniton switch should be labeled for batt. ign. acc. grnd. and one more for when you turn it all the way to start it. If you dont have an internaly regulated alt. and are still using an old alternator with that worthless external regulator box.. trash it and go buy a newer one off say an 85 camaro. otherwise if your stubborn and insist on an externally reg alternator, then disregaurd all this info.. :)... then, you need to come off the ignition switch and go back out to the engine bay and to your coil. weather it be points or hei.. i think thats enough to just start the engine.
