How does one restore a radiator? How do I strip the old paint, what kind of paint do I use, and should I spray it with primer? The engine was swapped for a 400 small block, and they swapped the radiator for a larger one because it was overheating....would just be better to get a new radiator? If so, where is a good place to buy one and how big should it be?

radiator black paint

I assume you mean restore the appearance and the radiator works fine. I have always had mine cooked out and pressure checked at a radiator shop. Usually about 45 bucks. Then you can get black engine paint or radiator paint from Eastwood (and probably others) and paint it yourself. It need to be a high temp paint. If you are picky don't let the shop paint it. They ususally do a lousy job. these days many show cars just stay with aluminum radiators and don't paint. Guess it depends on the look you are going for. It isn't hard to get an aluminim radiator for the Novas.
