Just forward thinking about upcoming body work. How do you remove the chrome trim on the doors and around the windows on a 71? Is it just glued on? How do you get it off with ruining it?

nate, if its the trim on the doors/windows and not the drip rail; then there are some tabs that are bent over and some legs off the trim that go into the fuzzy and are held by a couple of screws. not too many of them i think, the legs and screws. on the bent over tabs, take a "church key" and hook the tab end w/ the single end on the "key" and gently pull up. when you get it started you can swith over to a plastic putty knife and flex it to the point that you have clearance to remove the trim. don't worry about bending it all the way back, only far enough so you can get it off. if you bend it all the way, thats only incresing the amount of degree themetal has been bent and may cause them to break when you have to bent it back if you put the trim back on.
if you're talking about the drip rail, the link has some good info. which ever, go slow, especially if you will be saving and reusing the trim. if your not saving it, then don't go slow. well slow enough that you don't scratch the car and have to do some extra work to fix that damage up. best of luck!
