How to install J bolts in traction bars

Hi,
I bought some traction bars used for my 74 Omega. They are the Competition Engineering type with J bolts. I found the instructions online and they seem pretty straighforward however, no matter how I manipulate the bars and J bolts I can't get both ends to go in. It seems the angle of the J bolts in too large. If I put the front angled end in, I can't force the rear vertical end into the rear mount. The J bolts are thick enough I can't really bend them by hand. Any tricks here I can't figure out or do I need to bust out the torch and bend em a little more?
Thanks
Rick

I just put mine on. Was having the same issue, until I realized that the opposite side of the rear was out of align (not sitting where its meant to be) I slid it back then had no problems. Put the back part of the j bolt in first then I used another floor jack to lift the front up and they slid in. Hope this helps yea out.
Thanks

Thanks,
I'll try that.

Rick
I didn't install my J bolts on this 72 or my last 71. To me it looks like the fronts should go in first with the traction bar hanging down low and then install the other end straight down into the bar.
