Hi, all.

I have an Inline 250 (casting number 3877178) and I wanted to find out how I can identify whether or not this engine has an integral block or not. I'm currently in the process of figuring out which engine I'm going to have a machine shop rebuild for me and the integral head ID will really go along way to making a decision.

As always, your input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

what he is saying is the intake is casted as part of the head on a Integral Head.

removing the intake would require a sawzaw................

That doesn't look integral to me. Looks like there are studs that the exhaust manifold fits over and a bolt holding it all on.

The photo is an engine without the integral head. The exhaust manifold on the integral head bolts up from the bottom.

I have one out back, I'll go snap a photo and post it.

it could be an optical illusion but I think the valve cover is shorter on an integral head motor too

I think the valve cover bolt patern is different also
