I am trying to figure out how to fit a 28x10.5 on my 64, can it be done by using DSE mini tubs with some MODS to the tubs?
Thanks and if someone has done it can you post up some pix and say how you did it?

It could probably be done with the DSE tubs,Wheel openings will need to be modified or rear moved back.Wheel wells are pretty small:eek:Springsa will have to be moved inboard to use the space created by the tubs or 4 link/ladder combo

I fit a 26x10.50 on the back of my 64 without cutting, tubing, or even moving the springs! I doubt the 28" tall tire would fit without cutting the front of the wheel well opening or moving the axle back a little.

Here's a couple quick pictures!

We have done it, notch the rails, new tubs. ladder bars. Early Novas are the toughest cars to fit a tire under with the stock rails. I will look for pics but the last one was probably before I had a digital camera. (been a while)

But are the DSE tubes tall enough?
We made our own full tubs that were higher and wider, but I have had cars in the shop that still had the stock outers and a sheetmetal inner. If you plan on doing it cut the inner tubs out and take some measurements but I believe it will fit with a 1/2 or DES tub providing the car isnt too low. The factory tunnel is also a height factor.
Sounds like a lot of work to fit the 28's. Onebadtwo's 26's look awesome with out having to cut up your baby, but i understand, when you want something, you want something. So if you dont mind the work and expenses to fit the 28's, do it, i bet it'll look awesome! Keep us posted with pic please, cant wait to see how she looks!

I will be trying them in about 2 weeks so ill let you no what I find out!
The DSE tubs themselves provide enough clearance for a 295's on 62-65's & 315's on 66/67's provided you can clear the other obstructions.
