How should I clean the old paint off to repaint and restore my radiator? I know its not the original because the engine was swapped to a 400 small block and they needed to put a bigger radiator in it. I know some of the fins are bent..... would it be better for me to just replace it with a new one? If so any recommendations where to buy?
If you are talking cleaning INside too, I have heard that CLR works great for cleaning out a radiator. Never really needed to do it myself, however, I would definitely try it before forking out $200 for something I might not need. I have some bent fins on my radiator, and they were really never an issue, FWIW. For the outside, I would imagine soap and water and any paint stripper would work fine.
