What is the best way to paint the leaf springs and coil springs on my 79 Nova? I'm concerned with the paint cracking and flaking off when the springs flex.

I always thought about painting my leaf springs but didn't want any "Why would you do that??" kinda stuff..... LOL

Good to know I'm not the only one out there with this idea.

For the coil spring you want to place it on the floor and hold the spray can about 8 inches away and then run around it in a circle till you get to the bottom.

I prefer powder coat myself but rattle cans work just as well if prepped right.

Thank you all for the input! It seems majority consensus here and on other sites I'm on is that spray paint will work fine as long as I don't build it up to heavy. I already have plenty of left over epoxy primer and urethane paint that I used on my undercarriage. I'll probably go that route. I'll keep the photos coming as I progress through my restoration. Thanks again!
