I'm wondering how big an alternator I should get for my car? I have installed a MSD 6AL, blaster coil, & distributor. I am running a mechanical fuel pump, fan, and have no radio. Should I go with a 1 or 3 wire?

You don't need much now, but you never know down the road. The newer CS130 altenators are the way to go and the cost about the same. The 105 amp version should be more than enought. I always recommend a 3 wire altenator unless you are building a drag racer or farm tractor.

The CS series was used on most GM cars during the 80s and early 90s. There are three sizes; 121, 130 and I believe a 140. The 130 is slightly smaller than the 10SI altenators and puts out 105 amps in most applications. (There are very close to the same size.) You are looking for a 6 and 12 clocking bolt pattern which will bolt right into your Nova.

The nice thing about the CS series is they put out decent amperage at idle.
