I am trying to confirm if this is a hood release from a 74 nova. I am trying to replace it. Does it (and particular the bolt pattern) look familiar to anyone ?

For a '74?

Based on the number of folks with 3rd gens that are trying to fab hood releases, I don't think it came from that year car. It does look like the one I has on my '59 Corvette, and the '63.....like a run of the mill hood release. Now it's time for Tarantula to chime in with how he did his hood release.

I'll be happy to be wrong....
