Hello i have a 63 that has a aftermarket alston front clip we installed the hood and the rear of the hood sticks up about the thickness of the hood(3/4"). We trimmed the bottem edge of the hinges and slotted the holes so that we could lower the hinge as much as possible but they still hit the top of the inner fender...Any one else ever hhad this problem??... Last ditch effort will be to install some aftermarket billit hinges...if we do that who makes the best ones...(I used some ed..... mo..... on a 56 and they did not work to well at all....Any ideas would be helpfull Thanks bret

I have an Alston clip on my 63 vert and no issues with stock hinges. I also did some work on a friends 63 with Alston clip and hood fits with no issues or mods. Try and check with Alston.

I SEE THIS OFTEN WITH STOCK CLIPS, BUT S.HUMRICH HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM, PM HIM AND SEE WHAT HE DID!

If the engine is out leave the hing bolts loose and shut the hood and push down the back of the hood, have someone hold it down and tighten the bolts. May also be easier with the springs removed and your bolt holes may need some WALLOWING.
