Posted this already in the Body section, but I'm not getting much out of the sheet metal guys...had better ask the people running this stuff.

What manufacturers low tension hood springs are you running and whose hood pins? Need to order mine by Wed or Thurs as I will probably be cutting up the new 4" cowl Glasstek hood sitting in the garage on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Thanks.

I got a bolt on Harwood , fiberglass 4" cowl, and the light weight nova springs. As said, they are too light and wont hold the hood up adequately. Maybe a little lighter hood would be okay.

That's the problem I was running into with the Harwood on the 71 was that it would come bonking me in the head every so often. I really enjoyed that. I think I will try the Nova one's first as I will be taking out some material to fit the blower through so maybe that will lighten it up enough.

Hood pins anyone? I know they're not that sophisticated, but was just wondering which ones you guys like.

I have the same problem with the hood springs and had all but given up until reading this. I put bolts through the hing to hold the hood up.

Are they the low tension or medium tension?
Just order the ones for a 70 camaro with the fiberglass hood!

Those are some killer looking pins. Are you currently running them on your car?
im not using them as of now ,but my new glasstek is going on soon and i will be using these . they are made of some flexible polyurethane type plastic or something and the pins are nice and heavyduty . also the hardware is stainless . i personally cant find a better pin for the cost , and i hate this billet stuff !
