Hi guys,

I pulled my Holley 4160 750 base plate off tonight because it seems to have excessive slop in the shafts. I pulled out the primary shaft & it is worn shiney on one side as well as in the base plate.

I'm probably just going to order a new baseplate but I was wondering if there should be factory bushings in there? I have found both solid brass & nylon strip type bushings for this in the aftermarket.

Also, is there number that is unexceptable for a throttle shaft tolerance?

Thanks!

We use the nylon strips. We have different thickness strips we use depending on the amount of play they have. As far as tolerence, we dont have a set tolerence. We just go by how square the blades sit in the bores and if the blades are sticky from off idle.

So is there supposed to be a nylon strip from the factory? If not does the plate need honed to make room for the nylon?

Thanks!
