I have a 66 Holley 4160 that I have added a secondary metering block to that ran fine and then it just wouldn't idle. I used the Holley 4160 to 4150 secondary conversion metering block. I had the metering blocks milled to make them flat and cleaned all the fuel passages. Still no luck. Again, It ran perfectly and then it seemed to run like it has a vacuum leak. It runs as long as you hold it at a fast idle. Any ideas?

I would put the plate back on and see if the carb returns to working correctly. Then you'll know which end has the issue. Considering the carb idled before on the primaries as those carbs do, there should have been no reason to touch the front of the carb at all.

Finally got my mechanic friend to come by and take a look and the carb.

Turns out it was the intake manifold gaskets. He used his hands to block the air flow into the carb and it ran fine. New gaskets tomorrow.
